Freezing bananas

Did you know you can freeze bananas? I learned this a few years ago, and was reminded to put it down as a lesson learned by Laren. Once bananas get to that browning point and too soft to taste good, they are perfect for banana bread and more in baking. Just throw them in the freezer until you have time to use them, then just thaw them a little before throwing them in the ingredients.

Tipping your hair stylist

When I started college, I had never gotten my hair cut professionally. I had no idea you are supposed to tip the person who cuts your hair. I was mortified when, after my third cut, a friend mentioned the tip she'd given her stylist that day. Just a little advice for some of you who may not know: Tip your stylist! (You probably know it already!)

Cheap & good tip for skin

Best, cheapest beauty tip EVER! Plain, non-iodized salt! My aunt told me once that she was using plain salt for a facial. I tried it and love it! First, you steam your face, and then make a kind of paste out of about a tablespoon non-iodized salt and a few drops of hot water and gently rub on like an exfoliant, leaving on for two or three minutes. If you'd like a mini-manicure, don't rinse it off your hands and rub the rest of it into your hands like you would if you were applying lotion. Rinse it all off with warm water. You'll be amazed at how soft your skin is, and a container of salt will last forever and only costs about a dollar!

Vinegar & hard water

Let vinegar sit on surfaces with hard water deposits for a while and watch the hard water disappear after you wipe it all off!
